Google Plans to redesign its “Now Playing” Widget

Since the launch of the Now Playing widget on Pixel lock screens with the Pixel 2, and since then, it definitely needs a refresh.

According to Android Authority, they spotted a new design for the widget in the latest System Intelligence update. The new UI isn’t live yet; you need to manually enable it. When it’s enabled, it’s a big upgrade.

The new design adds the album cover and a favorite button.

As of now, we don’t know the release date of this new redesign, but one thing we do know is that it’s a big upgrade.
