Is five gigs enough?
By default, Apple gives you 5 gigs of iCloud storage for free, but in 2025 a 3-minute 4k video can fill that right up.

When you make an iCloud / Apple ID you get five gigs of free storage, it’s a bit of a downgrade from Google’s 15 but I can manage as long as it’s only photos, keynotes, numbers, pages & mail. But with iPhones having one of the Best Phone cameras a simple 4K video can eat that right up.
Now I have iCloud+ this is because I’m in the Apple Ecosystem and because of family sharing. I have two hundred gigs of storage but it’s shared but it’s fine me, my mom & dad are the only ones that use it, and I Only have 1k photos and one hundred Videos, I can manage.

But that brings me back to the question Is five gigs enough in 2025. An average person with a iPhone will have around 1k Photos and one hundred Videos but that can fill up your storage fast. iCloud backups can be huge. My iPhone 14 backups are around twenty gigs. So, my advice will be to upgrade to iCloud+.
