YouTube is replacing the Trending Page

After 10 years, it’s time to say goodbye

YouTube first launched the Trending page in 2015, but after 10 years, it’s going away.

10 years ago, YouTube said it’s “a lot simpler to capture [what’s trending] with a singular list of viral videos that everyone was talking about”. So whatever was at the top of trending was the hot topic.

Over time, YouTube has seen visits to the trending page decrease, especially in the last 5 years.

YouTube is announcing “YouTube Charts,” a replacement to the trending page where you get to pick the category and see what’s trending in “Trending Music Videos” or “Trending Movie Trailers”.

The main goal of this change is to get better, personalized recommendations.
